Corsages and flowers have been a huge trend over the past few years so its no surprise there are plenty of gowns with floral touches this year. However, for 2011 the corsage or floral applique is brought up to date by adding a new spin: texture. Pairing corsage details with rouched or lightly patterned fabric or using the flowers themselves to add some 3D detailing to a simple silhouette is a key theme for 2011 and we think Alan Hannah Ashley and Sassi Holford Fleur exemplify this trend.
Alan Hannah Ashley
Ashley is a stunning gown with nods to two of 2011′s big trends: texture and corsages. This fabulously unusual gown has beautiful cross hatching detail across the bodice and A-line skirt and is finished with a dramtic triple red flower corsage and strappy sash.
Sassi Holford Fleur
Fleur is a soft, flowing, floral gown with delicate flowers at the bottom of the skirt and trailing asymmetrically across the bodice. You can wear the gown with or without the tulle shoulder straps pictured – what you can’t see is that there are a couple of extra flowers where they attach at the back of the gown! The beauty of this gown is you can have a romantic, floaty look with the shape and support of Sassi’s integral corsets – the best of both worlds!
