Alan Hannah in You and Your Wedding

Here’s a few of Marguerite’s likes and loves:

My Icons: I love Greta Garbo for her mystery, and that enigmatic electricity between Bacall and Bogart. My Alan Hannah designs are inspired by the glamour of the Forties and Fifties, whereas MiaMia is more girly, influenced by Sixtires icons like Mia Farrow and the Biba label.

This Season: The latest Alan Hannah collection with its hand-painted roses was inspired by the English summer. I picked up some pretty teacups recently, and it really connects with that vintage feel.

My Travels: I’m a markte fan, always on the lookout for trinkets. I loved haggling for rugs in Marrakesh – it’s mesmerisingly colourful – and my favourite place is Portobello Market where I just bought some silver serving spoons.

My Inspiration: Among the classics, my favourites are Dior and, recently, Tom Ford. He’s not just a great designer, I also like his diversity. He moved into films and proved that if you’re artistic, you can do more than one thing.

On the Move: I never go anywhere without my Dior High Shine Lipstick in Couture Pink, my iPhone4 – I’m not usually gadgety but I’m completely hooked – and a good book. I’m currently loving Iris Murdock’s The Sea, The Sea for the beauty of the writing itself.
