Have you picked up the May/June issue of You and Your Wedding? We spotted this full page feature on designer Jenny Packham’s inspirations:
Here’s a few of her favourite things!
Around the World – “I never travel without my Rose perfume by Frederic Malle, Decleor Ylang Yland night cream, my ipod, a Smythson sketchbook and a fabulous pair of Louboutins! I’ve recently visited Nambia, vibrant India and Morocco.”
Girl Power - “The Jenny Packham is an independent woman who loves the glamour of jet-setting around the world, barefoot walks along far-away beaches and rummaging through the street markets of Marrakesh.”
Vive Paris – “I love vintage shopping in New York, but Paris is my spiritual home, where I feel most inspired. My favourite era in fashion is 1930s Paris. I love Art Deco – the opulence of indulging in unbridled glamour after the war. Think F. Scott Fitzgerald and Erte.”
Regal Range – “Beading and embellishment are both key to my designs. Marie Antoinette inspired my latest collection, with lots of bejewelled French lace, gleaming satin bows and crystal-dipped lace with chiffon daisies.”
Be Yourself – “Many brides-to-be feel they need to conform to a certain look, when actually the way you naturally style yourself should guide you. Be true to yourself: your husband-to-be wants to recognise the woman he fell in love with.”
