Hi Awen, Thank you so much for everything, and for helping me find the perfect dress! It really was the most amazing day & everyone was totally wowed by the dress! Polly x
Daniel Crook and Polly Adams were married in September 2013 at Penrice Castle in the Gower. Polly looked amazing in Esme by Jenny Packham, and shared these wonderful details with us about her day.
Your favourite part of the day Swimming in the sea just after we got married with my husband, all my bridesmaids, my brothers and the best men. It was hilarious!
My dad died the week before my wedding, but my brothers stood up and read his speech with such dignity, courage and pride that I was blown away. I was totally overwhelmed. They made me laugh, cry and really helped me to feel that he was there with me. They were incredible for holding it together, and managing to make the whole wedding have a little giggle. How they did it, I have no idea, but they were totally selfless, and so brave. Dad would have been so so proud of them.
Advice from the bride. Have as much fun as possible! The details don’t matter, and you won’t remember them any way! Just sit back, relax and enjoy. It’s over waaay too quickly, so don’t worry if you need to top up your lippy, or your hair goes a bit flat sometimes – get on the dance floor, tuck your dress into your knickers & dance! If you look perfect at 12.30am, you didn’t spend enough time dancing!
Unique details. My bridesmaids (all 6 of them!) are from all over the UK, so without me knowing, they managed to put together a Video speech to play on the wedding day. It was hilarious! A history of our friendship.. such a lovely idea, and one that had the entire 130 people at the wedding in stitches!
Since I was little, I always said I would get married on the beach in boardies and a bikini. I didn’t want to let go of this, but still wanted an amazing dress, so came to a compromise. I still had the most amazing dress, but we borrowed our friends beach hut down at our local beach which had been beautifully decorated, nipped in & got changed into a white Bikini & beach veil and all ran into the sea. It was absolutely amazing, and I loved every minute of it!! The bridesmaids were not too happy about the idea, but they loved it once they were in!
