White Gallery Trend Report

We had a fantastic time at the White Gallery bridal exhibition over the last two days. It was a wonderful experience, very calm and enjoyable, and of course full to the brim of stunning dresses and accessories!

We’ve chosen our new 2011 gowns, which will be arriving in the autumn, and hope to have some preview pictures from the show over the next couple of days. For now, we only have pictures of two dresses that will arriving in September-November: Rosalba by Stephanie Allin and Melita by Alan Hannah. pictured right. We’ll feature these dresses when they arrive, along with all our new samples, in the autumn.

In the meantime, here’s the trends we spotted during the show! The theme for 2011 is definitely romantic. We’re seeing a move towards softer, more flowing dresses, with bigger skirts and lots of detail. Organza, tulle, chiffon and lace are set to be a big trend. Every bride wants something different, something that epitomises their personal style and designers are responding to that by creating fabulously detailed gowns, like Alan Hannah’s Melita - more is definitely more for 2011!

Vintage is set to be a continuing trend, with designers drawing on the shapes and styles of the 1920s and 1950s, such as Stephanie Allin’s Rosalba. Fabulous vintage accessories are going to be very popular, such as Magpie Vintage’s range, with more brides choosing intricate headpieces over the traditional tiara, and pairing tea-length gowns with stylish statement shoes, like those of Harriet Wilde.

With so many new and fabulous gowns arriving in the autumn, we are having a Summer Sample Sale to make room! We’re adding a new gown a day – click here to see our sale offers!
